It was hard to wake up at 6:30am and ride all the way to campus for the WPSI, but I’m glad I made it. I especially enjoyed Tiffany’s demo on zines. It was very instructive—I didn’t know much about the genre, so I appreciated the background and research information she provided—and inspirational as well. I can totally see now the benefits of asking students create their own zines. Funny enough, a colleague and I are organizing a writing workshop on zines to be taught this fall at Danville Correctional Center. The very students requested it, so we are now in the process of finding someone knowledgeable enough on zine culture to teach it.
